The Passion with Koi
Koi Enterprise was the natural progression of a boy’s passion for Koi keeping and his willingness to share his knowledge and experiences with others. Anthony Quintero first became interested in Koi keeping and breeding at age 13, when he was fortunate to be taken under the wings of Mr. Fred Tonai, known throughout the world as a highly respected master Koi breeder.
Anthony explains: working with Mr. Tonai gave me the golden opportunity to learn from a master and exposed me to the fascinating and exciting art of Koi keeping. This included the identification of Koi health concerns, medication, breeding, culling, Koi pond retrofitting and repair, together with the application of many filtration setups from large commercial to small scale operations.
When Mr. Tonai retired, I decided to start my own business in 1996 called Koi Enterprise. As a newly created business, Koi Enterprise was focused on Koi health, pond cleaning and maintenance services. However, with the ever growing fascination in Koi keeping throughout the world, the company has evolved into a business catering to the full spectrum of Koi enthusiasts.
At Koi Enterprise, we’re riding the crest to the future that introduces us to the next generation of Koi keeping. With the ever growing world of computer science and applied technology, we offer Koi keepers the advantage of highly sophisticated monitoring systems to protect the Koi and the customers’ investments. And as I research and acquire new knowledge, as well as, advance my degrees in aquaculture and computer science, my company will continue to offer cutting-edge products and state-of-the-art services in Koi keeping.
As an example, all our Koi are quarantined for a minimum of 30 days at which time they are microscopically examined and treated if necessary. Maintaining excellent Koi health is paramount, and every effort is put forth in order to maintain our high standards of quality, including the sterilization of handling equipment and keeping facilities.
